As you may have noticed, we have recently released our flea and worming treatments onto our website; allowing you to buy a range of pet treatments online. This will add plenty of convenience and generally speeding up the process when it comes to purchasing these products. If you have bought these products from us in the past, you may know that when ordering these products, we require some additional information in order to comply with the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) and our Animal Medicines licence.
How to purchase an Animal Medicine product?
1. Firstly, you will add the product to your basket as you usually would with any other product. Once you have finished browsing and added everything you need to your basket, you will then be required to add some additional information regarding the pet, requiring the treatment.
2. This information revolves around your pet, so, we have added a new pets section within your account. In here you can add in plenty of pet details and save them, so you won’t have to enter them again when ordering in the future.
3. Once you have added in a pet you can then select them within the basket page, essentially showing us which pet is going to be treated with which product.
4. Once you have done this, we will require an updated weight, pregnancy and medication summary and then we can process your order as usual.
5. If the product you are trying to order is not suitable for the pet you have selected, we will not be able to process your order any further. We will display any errors on the basket page in red text when trying to order with unsuitable information.
Why do we need this information?
For the majority of our flea/worming treatment, we are required by law to carry these details for a minimum of five years. We legally have to hold these details as they are medical products, if a product recall were to take place, it is our responsibility to have your details on record in order to take further action.
This information also greatly helps us get a better understanding of your pet/s and their needs, when confirming your order, we have to ensure that we are selling you the correct product, for your pet and their requirements.
You already have my pet details?
If you have ordered from us in store before, there is a small chance that we have already imported your pet details from our old system onto your web account.
We have only imported details from the last two years and only if we have sufficient matching data to do so, so it is unlikely.
If you have purchased flea/worming treatment from us in the last two years and would like your details imported into your web account, please contact us.
